Blue Box recycling collection schedule changes in Oshawa and Whitby due to Victoria Day long weekend
Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham advises Oshawa and Whitby residents of changes to upcoming curbside blue box collection due to the Victoria Day long weekend.
When: May 18 to 23
Where: The City of Oshawa and Town of Whitby residents will temporarily have their blue box collection moved to the following day.
Residents with collection scheduled for Monday, May 18 will temporarily have their collection moved to Tuesday, May 19. This shift will continue throughout the week, ending with Friday, May 22 collection being moved to Saturday, May 23.
Why: These changes are taking place in observance of Victoria Day.
Note: Residents are reminded to have blue box materials at the curb by 7 a.m. on the day of collection. Garbage and green bin collection for Oshawa and Whitby residents is the responsibility of the individual municipalities, not the Region of Durham. Residents are asked to check their waste calendars or contact their local area municipality regarding the collection of these items.
The Region of Durham continues to safely provide essential services identified by the Province of Ontario, including waste management, in order to protect the environment and the public.
