Blue box recycling collection schedule changes in Oshawa and Whitby due to Victoria Day
Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham, Works Department would like to remind Oshawa and Whitby residents of changes to scheduled curbside blue box collection due to Victoria Day.
When: May 20 to 25.
Where: Residents in the City of Oshawa and the Town of Whitby only, will temporarily have their blue box collection moved to the next day.
This means that blue box collection scheduled for Monday, May 20 (Victoria Day) will be moved to Tuesday, May 21. This shift will continue throughout the week, ending with Friday, May 24 collection being moved to Saturday, May 25.
Garbage and green bin collection for Oshawa and Whitby residents is the responsibility of the individual municipalities, not the Region of Durham. These residents are asked to check their waste calendars or contact their local municipality regarding collection of these items.
Why: These changes are taking place due to the Victoria Day holiday.
