Blue box recycling collection schedule changes in Oshawa and Whitby due to Family Day
Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham would like to remind Oshawa and Whitby residents of changes to the scheduled blue box collection due to the Family Day holiday on Monday, February 21.
When: February 21 to 25, 2022.
Where: Residents of the City of Oshawa and the Town of Whitby only will temporarily have their blue box collection moved to the next day.
This means that blue box collection scheduled for Monday, February 21 (Family Day) will be moved to Tuesday, February 22. This shift will continue throughout the week, ending with scheduled collection for Friday, February 25 being moved to Saturday, February 26.
Garbage and green bin collection for Oshawa and Whitby residents is the responsibility of the individual municipalities, not the Region of Durham. Residents are asked to check their waste calendars or contact their local municipality regarding the collection of these items.
Note: Residents are reminded to have blue box materials at the curb by 7 a.m. on the day of collection. Place blue boxes, green bin and garbage on cleared parts of your driveway. Do not put them on top of snowbanks or icy patches.
