Celebrate local agriculture at the Durham Farm Connections Open House
Whitby, Ontario – Residents are invited to attend the Durham Farm Connections Open House, an interactive way to learn about agriculture in Durham Region.
When: Wednesday, April 3 from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Where: Luther Vipond Memorial Arena, 67 Winchester Road, Brooklin, ON
Why: The Durham Farm Connections Open House provides attendees with an opportunity to learn about agriculture through various stations, meeting with local farmers and their livestock; as well as learning about dairy, beef, poultry, sheep, maple syrup, land stewardship, vegetables, apples and crops.
This family friendly event also encourages visitors to learn how food is produced, to get a better understanding of where our food comes from.
There will be live demonstrations throughout the evening.
Note: The Durham Farm Connections primary program is an agriculture education program that meets Ontario curriculum requirements. It has been recognized with an Ontario Premier’s Award for Agri-food Innovation Excellence, as well as a Watershed Award from the Central Lake Ontario Conservation Authority (CLOCA).
Admission to the event is free, but donations of non-perishable food items will be gratefully accepted on behalf of the local food bank.
