Chair Henry congratulates Regional Councillor Rhonda Mulcahy on AMO board appointment
Whitby, Ontario – The following statement is being issued on behalf of John Henry, Regional Chair and Chief Executive Officer:
“I’m pleased to extend a hearty congratulations to Regional Councillor Rhonda Mulcahy on being elected to the Association of Municipalities of Ontario (AMO) Board of Directors, Regional and Single-Tier Caucus.
AMO is a non-profit organization representing almost all of Ontario’s 444 municipal governments. As a member of the Board, Mulcahy will help set policy for the association and serve as a key municipal leader in the province.
During the 2022-2024 term, AMO will be particularly focused on matters related to economic recovery and prosperity, planning and growth, affordable housing, ending homelessness, infrastructure investment, broadband expansion, and transit. In addition, AMO is focusing on social infrastructure and policies that enable everyone in Ontario to achieve their full potential. Investment in public health, community paramedicine, long term care, human services, community mental health and addiction round out AMO’s top priorities.
Thanks to Councillor Mulcahy for being a valued champion for strong and effective municipal government in Ontario, and for representing Durham Region on the AMO board.”
