Changes to Blue Box collection schedule Family Day week for Oshawa and Whitby residents

Whitby, Ontario –

The Regional Municipality of Durham, Works Department would like to remind Oshawa and Whitby residents of changes to scheduled curbside Blue Box collection due to the Family Day holiday.

When: Oshawa and Whitby residents will have their Blue Box collection moved to the following day the week of Feb. 20.

Blue Box collection scheduled for Monday, Feb. 20 (Family Day) will be moved to Tuesday, Feb. 21. This shift will continue throughout the week, ending with Friday, Feb. 24’s collections being moved to Saturday, Feb. 25.

Where: Blue Box collection changes only affect residents of the City of Oshawa and the Town of Whitby.

Why: Changes to Blue Box collection dates are taking place in observance of the Family Day holiday.

Note: Garbage and Green Bin collection for Oshawa and Whitby residents is the responsibility of those individual municipalities, not the Region of Durham. Oshawa and Whitby residents are asked to check their waste calendars, or contact their local municipality, regarding collection of these items.
