Changes to blue box recycling collection schedule in Oshawa and Whitby in observance of holiday
Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham is reminding City of Oshawa and Town of Whitby residents of changes to the scheduled curbside blue box collection, in observance of the statutory holiday.
When: September 6 to 11.
Where: Residents in Oshawa and Whitby will temporarily have their blue box collection moved to the next day. This means that residents with collection scheduled for Monday, September 6 will temporarily have their collection moved to Tuesday, September 7. This shift will continue throughout the week with collection scheduled for Friday, September 10 moved to Saturday, September 11.
Garbage and green bin collection for Oshawa and Whitby residents is the responsibility of the individual municipalities, not the Region of Durham. Residents are asked to check their waste calendars or contact their local municipality regarding collection of these items.
Why: These changes are taking place in observance of the September 6 statutory holiday.
