Changes to curbside blue box recycling collection in Oshawa and Whitby due to Civic holiday

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham would like to remind Oshawa and Whitby residents of changes to the scheduled blue box collection due to the Civic Holiday on August 7.

When: Monday, August 7 to Saturday, August 12.

Where: Residents of the City of Oshawa and the Town of Whitby only will temporarily have their blue box collection moved to the next day. This means that blue box collection scheduled for Monday, August 7 (Civic Holiday) will be moved to Tuesday, August 8. This shift will continue throughout the week, ending with Friday, August 11 collection being moved to Saturday, August 12.

Note: Residents are reminded to have blue box materials at the curb by 7 a.m. on the day of collection. Garbage and green bin collection for Oshawa and Whitby residents is the responsibility of the individual municipalities, not the Region of Durham. Residents are asked to check their waste calendars or contact their local municipality regarding the collection of these items.
