Community engagement session for residents to provide input and help shape 1635 Dundas
Whitby, Ontario – The Region of Durham has recently acquired a Whitby-based site that will provide housing to those who need it. Referred to as 1635 Dundas (formerly Sunnycrest Nursing Home), the site is an ideal location for temporary housing with wraparound supports and will help people get back on their feet again.
The Region will host a community engagement session to gather input on the health and human services that would be beneficial to the site.
When: Wednesday, August 30, 2023
5 to 7:30 p.m.
Where: Residents of Durham are invited to attend the drop in/open house community engagement session at Whitby Centennial Building
416 Centre Street south, Whitby, ON
Why: All community members including residents, businesses, community and health providers, and those with lived experiences are invited to weigh in to help create a positive path forward and help shape the facility’s future use.
Note: If you are unable to attend the in-person community engagement session, visit Your Durham to submit questions or comments at any time.
