Community invited to Consumption and Treatment Services Information Open House March 12
Whitby, Ontario - Durham Region residents are invited to attend an information open house to discuss a proposal for the establishment of a Consumption and Treatment Services (CTS) site. Community members will have the opportunity to engage with staff from Lakeridge Health, John Howard Society of Durham Region and Durham Region Health Department to learn more, ask questions and share their thoughts on a potential CTS site in the Oshawa area. Community members will also be asked for their input through a survey related to the proposed CTS site.
What: Information open house to discuss a proposed Consumption and Treatment Services (CTS) site in the Oshawa area. CTS sites integrate and build on existing services in the community for people struggling with substance use. CTS sites provide better access to care in a stigma-free/judgement-free environment and serve as an entry-point to health care services for people who struggle with substance use.
When: March 12, 2019 - 4 to 6 p.m.
Where: Oshawa Public Libraries – McLaughlin Branch, Auditorium, 65 Bagot Street, Oshawa

Why: The event will provide more information regarding the proposed CTS site in Oshawa and will seek further input from the community on the CTS survey.

Residents who are unable to attend the event can also share their feedback by completing the CTS survey that will be available until March 13 at durham.ca/CTSsurvey. More information is also available at durham.ca/CTS.
