Construction on Mara Road in Brock Township

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham, Works Department would like to advise residents that construction on Mara Road (from south of Main Street to north of Franklin Street in Brock) will require lane restrictions and a six-week road closure.

When: Construction begins this week and is expected to be complete by the end of August. Mara Road will be closed for approximately six weeks beginning May 15 (from Dundas Street to Franklin Street). Unfavourable weather conditions may influence the work schedule.

Where: Mara Road, from south of Main Street to north of Franklin Street, in Brock Township.

Why: Work includes road reconstruction, watermain replacement and storm sewer replacement.

Note: Access to local driveways and businesses will be maintained at all times. The Region realizes that the work may be disruptive, and will make every effort to complete the work as quickly and efficiently as possible. Drivers are asked to exercise caution for the safety of pedestrians, cyclists and construction workers.
