Construction to close Maple Grove Road in Clarington
Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham, Works Department would like to advise residents that construction will close Maple Grove Road in the Municipality of Clarington in stages until mid-November.
When:
Stage one: Work begins the week of June 19. Maple Grove Road will be closed from King Street (Regional Highway 2) southerly 120 metres, for approximately three weeks, starting July 4.
Stage two: Following stage one, Maple Grove Road will be closed from King Street northerly 140 metres for approximately four weeks.
Lane restrictions will also occur as necessary. Work is estimated to be complete by mid-November. Unfavourable weather conditions may influence the work schedule.
Why: Intersection improvements, including earth excavation, granular road base, hot mix paving, curb and gutter, storm sewers, watermain, traffic signals and roadway illumination.
Note: The Region realizes that the work may be disruptive, and will make every effort to complete the work as quickly and efficiently as possible. Drivers are asked to exercise caution for the safety of pedestrians, cyclists and construction workers.
