Construction to close Ritson Road in north Oshawa

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham, Works Department would like to advise residents that construction will close Ritson Road (Regional Road 16), around Kedron Dells Golf Course in Oshawa, in stages until the end of November.

Where:

Stage one: Ritson Road will be closed beginning this week, from the Kedron Dells Golf Course entrance to north of Given Road for approximately 11 weeks.
Stage two: Following stage one, Ritson Road will be closed from the Kedron Dells Golf Course entrance to south of Maine Street for approximately 13 weeks.

Work is estimated to be complete by the end of November. Unfavourable weather conditions may influence the work schedule.

Why: Work includes road reconstruction; the installation of new sanitary sewers, watermains and storm sewers; slope stabilization; and lighting improvements.

Note: The Region realizes that the work may be disruptive, and will make every effort to complete the work as quickly and efficiently as possible. Drivers are asked to exercise caution for the safety of pedestrians, cyclists and construction workers.
