Daily lane restrictions and a two-day road closure on Newtonville Road in Clarington

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham is advising residents of lane restrictions and a two-day road closure on Newtonville Road (Regional Road 18) in the Municipality of Clarington.

When: Lane restrictions from September 7 to November 8. A two-day road closure will be in place from September 20 to 21. Unfavourable weather conditions may influence the work schedule.

Where: Lane restrictions on Newtonville Road (Regional Road 18), from 0.8 kilometres south of Concession Road 6 to 1.1 kilometres north of Concession Road 6, in Clarington. Road closure will be in place on Newtonville Road, from Concession Road 6 to 150 metres north of Concession Road 6.

Why: Daily lane restrictions will be in place to safely complete road rehabilitation. The two-day road closure is required to facilitate cross-culvert replacements.

Note: The Region realizes that the construction work will be disruptive and will make every effort to complete the work as quickly and efficiently as possible. Drivers are asked to exercise caution for the safety of pedestrians, cyclists and work crews.
