Durham Immigration Report now available
Whitby, Ontario – The Durham Local Immigration Partnership (DLIP) has released a new report, titled A Look at Durham: Trends in Immigration and Citizenship.
Where: This report is available online at durhamimmigration.ca.
When: Trends over the last four decades are contained within the report, noting immigration numbers within each local area municipality, and the region at-large, before 1980 until 2021.
Why: The purpose of the report is to share information with partners and the community, build an evidence base on immigration and settlement and facilitate data-driven discussions. The data contained in the report will help inform community planning, policy, and program and service decisions in Durham.
The report is divided into three sections: Citizenship and immigration; Ethnocultural diversity; and Educational attainment and economic potential. Data within these sections are used to describe trends and outline information about newcomers and immigrants in Durham and the impact these groups have within their communities.
