Durham Region Film Office hosts bus tour showcasing the region’s film and television production sites
Whitby, Ontario – On October 11 and 15, the Durham Region Film Office welcomed about 200 people from around the world for the “On Location with Hannibal” film tour. Fans of the show from Ireland, England, Wales, France, Germany, the Czech Republic, Poland, Japan, USA, Canada and Taiwan took part in the tour.
The bus tour took fans of the television series “Hannibal” to several locations across Durham Region, where scenes from the popular series were filmed. Stops included two private homes, Greenwood Conservation Area, Moodies Motor Inn, and Parkwood National Historic Site. This was the second tour in the region, after a successful inaugural tour in 2017, and coincided with the second Fannibal Fest convention held in Toronto.
“The ‘On Location with Hannibal’ film tour is a great opportunity to showcase Durham Region and the opportunities available for the film sector throughout the region,” said Brian Bridgeman, Commissioner of Planning and Economic Development. “Film tourism continues to grow in popularity, and is a great way to increase hotel bookings and visits to Durham’s other amenities and tourist attractions.”
