Durham Region Health Department to host national conference of Canadian public health inspectors
Whitby, Ontario – Members of the media are invited to attend as Durham Region Health Department hosts the 86th national conference of the Canadian Institute of Public Health Inspectors (CIPHI). This annual conference has been in the planning stages since fall 2019 and was postponed twice due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
This event will be held September 12 to 14 at the Ajax Convention Centre, 550 Beck Crescent, Ajax. Joining delegates for the conference will be Durham Regional Chair John Henry, Town of Ajax Mayor Shaun Collier, Dr. Robert Kyle, Durham Region Medical Officer of Health, and various executive members of the CIPHI. On Tuesday, September 13, Dr. Kieran Moore, Ontario’s Chief Medical Officer of Health, will attend the conference to present a keynote address to delegates.
The conference will highlight issues related to the work of public health inspectors, while building on a current national CIPHI campaign focused on increasing public understanding and acknowledging the vital work of these professionals, both at the local and national levels.
