Durham Region launches new accessibility widget
Whitby, Ontario – Communities across Durham Region are placing inclusivity at the forefront. It’s about ensuring that every individual—regardless of their abilities—can participate.
Part of this mindset is ensuring municipal websites are built on inclusion and accessibility. In Durham Region, the launch of a new accessibility widget is helping to meet the unique needs of those accessing the website; offering various features to support user experience.
When: The accessibility widget will be available on Monday, January 24.
Where: It will be located on our website at durham.ca.
Why: The Region is continually working to ensure website compliance via the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG). This widget is designed to enhance the user experience.
Note: Users must select the Accessibility Menu to begin using the features; noting that the widget works best with Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge.
