Durham Region Profile highlights the region’s growth, development and progressive opportunities
Whitby, Ontario – The Region of Durham has released its updated Durham Region Profile—a demographic and socio-economic data report that provides comprehensive information in six key categories: population; social characteristics; households; employment; income and education; and agriculture.
For the first time, the report is accompanied by a new online dashboard of key statistics, with interactive tables and maps—highlighting data that is of interest to the general public, business community, and various levels of government. The report also features an infographic summary and technical report to help ensure the information is presented in a variety of formats.
The Durham Profile was prepared by the Planning and Economic Development Department; in consultation with the Health, Social Services, Works and Finance departments; Durham Region Transit, Durham Regional Police Service, and the Chief Administrative Officer’s Office. A majority of the data was provided by the Statistics Canada 2016 Census, along with additional data contributions from the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation, the Municipal Property Assessment Corporation, and the Durham Region Planning Division.
