Durham Region Roundtable on Climate Change is looking for youth citizen members
Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham is now accepting expressions of interest from youth aged 16 to 25 who wish to be considered for volunteer membership on the Durham Region Roundtable on Climate Change (DRRCC).
When: Expressions of interest must be submitted by August 27, 2021. A decision on the appointments will be made by Durham Regional Council on September 29, 2021.
How: Membership is open to Durham residents with an interest in the Region’s climate change initiatives. Interested youth are asked to submit a brief biography and statement of interest by email to ClimateChange@durham.ca or by mail to:

Where: Appointed members will be expected to attend a monthly Friday morning meeting, held virtually through Microsoft Teams.
Why: The DRRCC is a volunteer advisory committee that provides advice to The Regional Municipality of Durham on climate change matters. DRRCC is composed of 15 to 20 members, including the Regional Chair and Chief Executive Officer; four Regional Councillors; eight to 10 representatives from industry, associations and public institutions; one to six citizen at-large representatives (including youth aged 16 to 25); and the Chief Administrative Officer of the Region of Durham.
