Durham Region’s 2021 Property Tax Supported Business Plans and Budgets to be presented to Council
Whitby, Ontario – The proposed 2021 Property Tax Supported Business Plans and Budgets for The Regional Municipality of Durham will be presented for consideration to Durham Regional Council.
When: The business plans and budgets will be presented for approval to Durham Regional Council on Wednesday, February 24 beginning at 9:30 a.m.
Why: The Property Tax Supported Business Plans and Budgets outline the operating and capital financing needed to deliver essential services to our residents and businesses.
Note: The proposed 2021 Property Tax Supported Business Plans and Budgets are available online at durham.ca/Budget. To obtain a paper copy, please contact the Finance Department by email at budgets@durham.ca, or by telephone at 905-668-7711, extension 2302 or 1-800-372-1102 (toll-free).
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and in compliance of the directions from the Government of Ontario, the Region of Durham will not be allowing the public into the Council Chambers. Members of the public can speak via teleconference during the meeting. If you wish to register as a delegate regarding an agenda item, you may register in advance of the meeting by noon on February 23 (the day prior to the meeting) by emailing delegations@durham.ca and you will be provided with the details to delegate electronically. You can also view the livestream of the meeting at calendar.durham.ca/meetings.

On December 16, 2020, Regional Council approved the 2021 Business Plans and Budgets for the Consolidated Water Supply System and Sanitary Sewerage System. These budgets are funded by user rates–not property taxes–and support the maintenance and operation of the Region’s water and sewer systems.
