Durham Region’s 2022 Property Tax Supported Business Plans and Budgets to be presented to Council
Whitby, Ontario – The proposed 2022 Property Tax Supported Business Plans and Budgets for The Regional Municipality of Durham will be presented for consideration to Durham Regional Council.
When: The business plans and budgets will be presented for approval to Durham Regional Council on Wednesday, February 23 beginning at 9:30 a.m.
Why: The Property Tax Supported Business Plans and Budgets outline the operating and capital financing needed to deliver essential services to our residents and businesses.
Note: The proposed 2022 Property Tax Supported Business Plans and Budgets are available online at durham.ca/Budget. To obtain a paper copy, please contact the Finance Department by email at budgets@durham.ca, or by telephone at 905-668-7711, extension 2302 or 1-800-372-1102 (toll-free).
If you wish to make a delegation before Regional Council, submit your request in writing to delegations@durham.ca by no later than noon on Tuesday, February 22, 2022. Members of the public who register in advance of the meeting will be provided with the details to delegate electronically. Please note that due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Region of Durham will not be allowing the public into Council Chambers at this time. Members of the public can speak via teleconference during the meeting. Staff will provide you with the details on how to participate in the meeting. Interested members of the public can view the meetings via live streaming by visiting the Region's live streaming site. If an accommodation for in person attendance is required, arrangements must be made by emailing clerks@durham.ca prior to the meeting date.

On December 22, 2021, Regional Council approved the 2022 Business Plans and Budgets for the Consolidated Water Supply System and Sanitary Sewerage System. These budgets are funded by user rates–not property taxes–and support the maintenance and operation of the Region’s water and sewer systems.
