Durham Region’s DEI Strategy: What it is and why your feedback matters

Whitby, Ontario – Durham Region’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Strategy is the sum of research, community insight and best practices that will inform existing and future equity-advancing initiatives.
What: Over the past few years, Durham Region has taken several steps to help learn about what local communities need to be more inclusive. This includes launching the Community Safety and Well-Being Plan, setting up the Durham Region Anti-Racism Task Force, developing the Durham Local Immigration Partnership, conducting a Community Needs Assessment and updating our Multi-Year Accessibility Plan.
All the work done to-date and the feedback gathered from this survey will help inform the Region’s comprehensive DEI Strategy.
When/Where: From November 18 to December 15, have your say in the DEI Strategy. You are invited to:
- Complete our online survey.
- Visit one of our local pop-up events.
Why: Your feedback will help guide the priorities and actions outlined within the DEI Strategy—impacting the way work is conducted by Durham Region and informing existing and future equity-advancing initiatives. Have your say!
