Durham Region seeking feedback on design options for bus shelters along the PULSE Highway 2 route
Whitby, Ontario – The Region of Durham and Durham Region Transit (DRT) are conducting a survey to gather feedback on the design of new bus shelters along Highway 2 (Kingston Road and Dundas Street) in the region.
Where: Complete the survey online, until March 25, 2022.
Why: The Region of Durham and DRT are installing new centre island bus shelters along the Kingston Road corridor, from Altona Road in Pickering to Des Newman Boulevard in Whitby (excluding Pickering Village).
Durham Region and DRT have designed three options. They are seeking public feedback, before making a decision on the design of bus shelters along the PULSE bus rapid transit (BRT) corridor on Highway 2.
These bus shelters will be located within the centre median island. They will create a more positive customer experience, with better accessibility and a focus on environmental sustainability, resulting in a cost effective and low maintenance solution.
