Expressions of interest now being accepted for membership on the Durham Agricultural Advisory Committee
Expressions of interest are now being accepted from individuals who wish to be considered for volunteer membership on the Durham Agricultural Advisory Committee (DAAC). The Region’s aim is to have a diverse membership engaged in varied disciplines of the agricultural industry, and community representation with knowledge of agricultural and related rural issues.
DAAC is a volunteer advisory committee that provides advice to The Regional Municipality of Durham on agricultural and rural related matters, while also being involved in education and outreach activities. DAAC is composed of 16 members, including: 11 bona fide farmers; three rural non-farm residents; a representative of the Durham Region Federation of Agriculture; and a representative of the Regional Planning and Economic Development Committee.
Interested individuals are asked to submit a brief resumé and statement of interest by Friday, November 30. A decision on the appointments will be made by Durham Regional Council in early 2019. Appointed members will be expected to attend an evening meeting, once a month, at The Regional Municipality of Durham Headquarters at 605 Rossland Road East in Whitby.
Submissions should be emailed to daac@durham.ca or mailed to:
