Expressions of interest now being accepted for membership on the Durham Environmental Advisory Committee
Expressions of interest are now being accepted from individuals who wish to be considered for volunteer membership on the Durham Environmental Advisory Committee (DEAC).
DEAC is a volunteer advisory committee that provides advice to The Regional Municipality of Durham on environmental planning matters and is involved in environmental awareness and outreach activities. DEAC is composed of 17 members, including: 13 citizen members; one post-secondary student member; two youth members; and a representative of the Regional Planning and Economic Development Committee. Membership is open to residents with an interest in protecting and enhancing the region’s environment. Interested individuals are asked to submit a brief resumé and statement of interest.
Expressions of interest must be submitted by November 30. A decision on the appointments will be made by Durham Regional Council in early 2019. Appointed members will be expected to attend an evening meeting, once a month, at The Regional Municipality of Durham Headquarters at 605 Rossland Road East in Whitby.
Submissions should be emailed to deac@durham.ca or mailed to:
