Whitby, Ontario – Are you interested in listing your property as a potential filming location in the Film Durham and Ontario Creates Digital Location Libraries? If so, the Durham Region Film Commission (Film Durham) and municipal film offices are offering a Locations Seminar for homeowners and businesses in the region to learn about hosting a film or television production.
During the event, attendees will have the opportunity to meet industry professionals who will educate and prepare them to market their unique location. Topics will include:
- How to market your location.
- Scouting and site visits.
- Preparing for the production community.
- How to be a film-friendly location.
- Protecting your place - what questions should you ask?
- Production company responsibilities.
When: February 29 from 1 to 4 p.m.
Where: Parkwood Estate National Historic Site, McLaughlin Room (Carriage House) located at 270 Simcoe Street North, Oshawa.
Why: Durham Region plays an important role in Ontario’s film and television industry with its mix of industrial, urban and rural locations that can be used as sets taking place in a variety of time periods.
