Have your say on the Durham Strategic Road Safety Action Plan

The Regional Municipality of Durham, Works Department invites residents to give input about the new Durham Strategic Road Safety Action Plan at one of two upcoming public events.
WHERE:
Beaverton: Friday, September 15 at 11 a.m. through to Sunday September 17 at 3:30 p.m.
Beaverton Fall Fair – inside the curling rink

Oshawa: Saturday, September 30 from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.

WHY:
Durham Region has recognized that, despite having an active safety program to address motor vehicle collisions, a new and broader-based approach is required. As a result, the Works Department (Traffic Engineering and Operations Division) is developing a Strategic Road Safety Action Plan for the Region. The study will set out targets, policies, and action plans to guide the Region and its road safety partners towards creating safer roads and reducing the number of collisions and thus road fatalities and injuries.
NOTE:
Road safety representatives will be on hand to answer questions and residents will be asked to complete a short survey about road safety. For more information, or to complete the survey online, visit durham.ca/DurhamVisionZero.
