Health Department declares COVID-19 outbreak at Supercuts in Pickering
Whitby, Ontario – Durham Region Health Department has declared a COVID-19 outbreak at Supercuts, 570 Kingston Road, Pickering. Anyone who received service at this location between March 18 and 21 is being advised of a potential high-risk of exposure to COVID-19. All patrons who attended Supercuts during this time-period must self-isolate for 14 days from the last day they were at this location and seek COVID-19 testing as soon as possible.
To arrange for testing at one of the Durham Region COVID-19 Assessment centres, visit covidswab.lh.ca and complete the online assessment form. You do not need to contact the Health Department to arrange for testing. Once testing has been completed, you must remain home and self-isolate for 14 full days from the last day that you attended Supercuts, even if your test result is negative.
You must self-isolate away from other household members. For the duration of your isolation period, everyone in your household is required to stay home except for essential reasons. Essential reasons include attending work, school, or childcare and essential errands such as groceries, attending medical appointments, or picking up prescriptions.
Note that if the isolating individual is young and/or cannot isolate apart from other household members, one identified parent or caregiver must also isolate with the individual away from other household members.
