Help shape Durham Region’s DEI plans and initiatives
Whitby, Ontario – Durham Region's Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) division would like the community’s input on what belonging and inclusion mean to them to help inform the development of equity-focused strategies and programs for the Region.
It is important that the Region of Durham is a place where diversity is embraced and each one of us is valued and included. We recognize that each of us have different experiences of living and working in Durham Region, and it is important that these experiences are heard and incorporated into the Region’s plans. Whether you are a newcomer or long-standing resident of the region, we want to hear from you.
When: November 1 to December 2
What: Residents are encouraged to provide input by completing the DEI plans and initiatives survey and/or attending an in-person or virtual engagement session.
Where: Complete the survey or register for an engagement session at durham.ca/DEI-Plans.
Why: Durham Region is made up of diverse communities. Every person has the right to feel a sense of belonging and be empowered to participate fully. As a Region, we strive to identify and remove barriers to participation to ensure our facilities, programs and services are accessible, equitable and reflect the diversity of the region. This consultation period will allow for community input to be heard and incorporated into our plans and activities.
