Hickman Road in Ajax closed for emergency watermain repair

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham, Works Department would like to advise residents that Hickman Road, between Michaelman Road and Pickering Beach Road in Ajax, will be closed for an emergency watermain repair.

WHEN: The road will be closed beginning today (September 19) and will remain closed until the repair is complete (estimated two weeks). Unfavourable weather conditions may influence the work schedule.

WHERE: Hickman Road, between Michaelman Road and Pickering Beach Road, in the Town of Ajax.

WHY: To repair a watermain.

NOTE: Access to local driveways will be maintained whenever possible. The Region realizes that the work may be disruptive, and will make every effort to complete the work as quickly and efficiently as possible. Drivers are asked to exercise caution for the safety of pedestrians, cyclists and construction workers.
