Lane restrictions and weekend road closure on Salem Road in the Town of Ajax

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham is advising residents of lane restrictions and a weekend road closure on Salem Road (Regional Road 41) in the Town of Ajax.  

When: On Friday, August 20, starting at 7 a.m., lane restrictions will begin, with the road closure starting at 6 p.m. The road closure will continue until 11 p.m. on Sunday, August 22. Unfavourable weather conditions may influence the work schedule.  

Where: Salem Road between Lord Drive and Bayly Street East, in the Town of Ajax. The road closure will affect the southbound lanes on Salem Road. There will be lane restrictions on the northbound lanes on Salem Road, however, one lane will remain open throughout the weekend.

Why: To safely connect a new sanitary sewer and to support new developments.

Note: The Region recognizes that the construction work will be disruptive and will make every effort to complete the work as quickly and efficiently as possible. Drivers are asked to exercise caution for the safety of pedestrians, cyclists and work crews.
