Lane restrictions at Merritt Street and Highway 401 in Oshawa

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham is advising residents of lane restrictions along Merritt Street and along Highway 401 in the City of Oshawa.

When: Ongoing until June 2023. Unfavourable weather conditions may influence the work schedule.

Where: Merritt Street north of Bloor Street East, Ritson Road westbound on-ramp to Highway 401 and on Highway 401 between Harmony Road and Simcoe Street in Oshawa. The project will also require access and construction storage at the end of Howard Street.

Why: To safely decommission a Highway 401 tunnel liner.

Note: The Region realizes that the construction work will be disruptive and will make every effort to complete the work as quickly and efficiently as possible.

Residents should expect traffic delays and are asked to exercise additional caution for everyone’s safety.
