Lane restrictions on Bayly Street in Ajax

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham, Works Department would like to advise residents of lane restrictions on Bayly Street (from the intersection of Westney Road to half a kilometre west of Westney Road) in Ajax.

When: Construction begins the week of May 15 and is expected to be complete by December. Unfavourable weather conditions may influence the work schedule.

Where: Bayly Street, from the intersection of Westney Road to half a kilometre west of Westney Road, in the Town of Ajax.

Why: Work includes intersection improvements; watermain work; the construction of an eastbound right-turn lane; street light upgrades; a new multi-use trail; and the rehabilitation of John Mills Bridge.

Note: Access to local driveways and businesses will be maintained at all times. The Region realizes that the work may be disruptive, and will make every effort to complete the work as quickly and efficiently as possible. Drivers are asked to exercise caution for the safety of pedestrians, cyclists and construction workers.
