Lane restrictions on Durham Highway 2 in Newcastle
Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham, Works Department advises residents that there will be intermittent lane restrictions on a portion of Durham Highway 2 (King Avenue East) in Newcastle, as crews work to restore the Graham Creek Channel.
When: Work is scheduled to begin August 12 and should be complete by October 15. Unfavourable weather conditions may influence the work schedule.
Where: Durham Highway 2 (King Avenue East), at the Graham Creek channel (just west of Farrow Avenue), in Newcastle (Municipality of Clarington).
Why: Channel restoration under the bridge and the construction of channel banks.
Note: The Region realizes that the work is disruptive, and will make every effort to complete the work as quickly and efficiently as possible. Drivers are asked to exercise caution for the safety of pedestrians, cyclists and the work crews.
