Lane restrictions on Stellar Drive, Champlain Avenue and Thornton Road South in Whitby and Oshawa
Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham, advises residents of lane restrictions on Stellar Drive (Regional Road 25), Champlain Avenue (Regional Road 25A) and Thornton Road South (Regional Road 52) in the Town of Whitby and the City of Oshawa.
When: The project will be separated into three stages: Stellar Drive boulevard and restoration work is ongoing; Champlain Avenue road reconstruction is anticipated to start the week of May 4; Thornton Road South reconstruction is expected to begin in August. Work is expected to be completed by late October 2020. Unfavourable weather conditions may influence the work schedule.
Where: The first stage of the project will take place on Stellar Drive (Regional Road 26), from Thickson Road to Thornton Road South. The second stage will take place on Champlain Avenue from Stellar Drive to Thornton Road South. The third stage will take place on Thornton Road South from Champlain Avenue to 680 metres north of Champlain Avenue. Lane restrictions will be required through each phase of construction.

Note: Drivers are asked to exercise caution for the safety of pedestrians, cyclists and work crews. Please also be advised, in response to COVID-19 the Province of Ontario has identified the maintenance and repair of critical infrastructure including roads as an essential service, according to the latest update of essential workplaces from April 3.
