Learn about fire prevention and safety at an upcoming virtual seminar

Whitby, Ontario – Do you know what your smoke alarm is telling you when it chirps? Are you interested in learning home maintance tips and tricks that can help keep you and your family protected from fire? In recognition of National Fire Prevention Week, seniors in Durham Region are invited to learn about fire prevention and safety at an upcoming virtual seminar.

When: Wednesday, October 6 from 1 to 2 p.m.  

Where: This is a virtual event. Register online at durham.ca/LearningSeries.

Who: Scugog Fire Prevention Officer Kristy-Lynn Pankhurst will share tips, tricks and resources to help seniors stay safe at home.

Note: This event series is part of the Seniors’ Virtual Learning Series, presented by Durham Region in partnership with various community partners. Stay active, socially engaged and connected through educational workshops, recreational classes and community challenges for older adults. Watch for more events in the coming months.
