Let us count you in: Business Count returns this spring and summer – online and in-person
Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham is gathering employment statistics and data to help build a stronger local economy. Businesses within the Region can count on receiving a knock on their door this spring/summer.
Between May and August, the Region’s Business Count team, recognizable by their navy blue Region of Durham shirts and photo ID cards, is scheduled to visit all businesses in Durham, to gather basic information about the type of organization, number of employees, plans for growth, floor space and location. Due to risk of spreading avian flu between poultry operations in Ontario, surveyors will not be visiting farms in-person. Farm owners will be contacted via phone and email and are encouraged to complete the survey online.
In addition to in-person visits, businesses – including home-based businesses and non-profit organizations – have the option to complete the 2024 Business Count by visiting durham.ca/BusinessCount.
The data collected is used for planning and analysis, and directly impacts resourcing for services and programming, while growing industry clusters within the local economy. The data will also be used to update regional and municipal business directories. When seeking out new suppliers, businesses are encouraged to visit the Region’s online directory at durham.ca.
Sensitive data will be kept confidential and used only by the Region and area municipalities. To view the complete Terms of Use, please visit durham.ca/BusinessCount.
