Mandatory water restrictions for Beaverton residents and businesses are now in effect
Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham is advising residents and businesses in Beaverton, in the Township of Brock, of mandatory water restrictions. Residents and businesses are required to discontinue all non-essential indoor and outdoor water use during this time.
When: Effective immediately, until further notice.
Where: Beaverton, Township of Brock
Why: Due to equipment failure that has resulted in a loss of redundancy at the Beaverton Water Supply Plant, which has resulted in a reduction in treatment capacity. Water use restrictions are necessary to maintain adequate water levels to deal with emergencies, including fire protection during this time.
Note: Examples of non-essential water use includes cleaning driveways or decks, washing cars and lawn watering.
The Region regrets any inconvenience this may cause and thanks customers for their co-operation. For water conservation tips, visit durham.ca/WaterConservation, or contact our Technical Support Division at 905-668-7711 (toll-free 1-800-372-1102).
