New roundabout coming to the Township of Brock

This summer, The Regional Municipality of Durham will be constructing a roundabout at the intersection of Lake Ridge Road (Regional Road 23) and Regional Road 12/Pefferlaw Road (York Regional Road 21), in the Township of Brock.

The Region held a public information session in January 2018 to explain the plan to modify the existing two-way-stop-controlled intersection into a roundabout, and the benefits it will bring.

Once constructed, the Region is expecting the roundabout to improve the overall traffic operations and reduce the number and severity of collisions at this intersection. The proposed roundabout will also help the Region to eventually achieve the larger goal of preventing any fatal or major collision on its roads as outlined by Vision Zero, the Region’s Strategic Road Safety Action Plan.
