Nomination period extended for environmental achievement awards

Whitby, Ontario – The Durham Environment and Climate Advisory Committee (DECAC) has extended the nomination deadline for the 2023 Environmental Achievement Awards, celebrating environmental excellence for projects completed after January 1, 2021.  

When: The extended deadline for submissions is Wednesday, October 4.

Why: The awards program provides an opportunity to recognize individuals and organizations that dedicate time to promote, preserve and enhance the region’s natural environmental, reduce greenhouse gases, and promote climate resiliency.

Nomination forms are available at durham.ca/DECAC, or by contacting decac@durham.ca.

Note: The DECAC Environmental Achievement Awards were established in 2003 to recognize and acknowledge environmental achievements of individuals and organizations in the public, private and non-profit sectors within Durham Region. The awards program has eight categories, which were named in memory of past environmental leaders.
