Nominations being accepted to honour environmental achievements

Whitby, Ontario – The Durham Environment and Climate Advisory Committee (DECAC) is now accepting nominations for the 2023 Environmental Achievement Awards, celebrating environmental excellence for projects completed between January 1, 2021 and September 1, 2023.

When: The deadline for submissions is September 15.

Why: The awards program provides an opportunity to recognize individuals and organizations that dedicate time to promote, preserve and enhance the region’s natural environment, reduce greenhouse gases, and promote climate resiliency.

Note: The DECAC Environmental Achievement Awards were established in 2003 to recognize and acknowledge environmental achievements of individuals and organizations in the public, private and non-profit sectors within Durham Region. The awards program has eight categories, which were named in memory of past environmental leaders.
