Nominations now being accepted for position of Regional Chair

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham is now accepting nominations for the position of Regional Chair.   

When: The Regional Clerk is receiving nominations for the Regional Chair position from now until August 19 at 2 p.m.

Where: New for 2022, in-person filing of nominations will be by appointment, to ensure sufficient staff resources are available to assist candidates at the time of filing. Please contact clerks@durham.ca to schedule an appointment. Nominations may also be submitted electronically. Please contact elections@durham.ca for instructions for electronic submission.

Why: Every person who wishes to be a candidate for Regional Chair must file their nomination paper with the Regional Clerk, as outlined in the Municipal Elections Act, 1996.

Note: The Regional Clerk will answer any questions related to the nomination process for the office of the Regional Chair. For more information, please visit durham.ca/elections.
