Ontario extends state of emergency and stay-at-home order
Whitby, Ontario – This afternoon, the Province of Ontario has announced an extension of the state of emergency and province-wide stay-at-home order.
When: Further restrictions go into effect on Saturday, April 17 at 12:01 a.m., extending the stay-at-home order an additional two weeks, for a total of 6 weeks.
What: In addition to the stay-at-home order, further restrictions include, but are not limited to:
- Limiting outdoor gatherings to members of your household only.
- Individuals who live alone can have exclusive contact with one other household.
- Limiting capacity of religious services, weddings, and funerals to 10 people indoors or outdoors (effective Monday, April 19 at 12:01 a.m.).
- Closing outdoor recreational amenities such as golf courses, playgrounds, and basketball courts.
