Portion of Lakeview Road in Newcastle to be closed for construction

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham, Works Department is advising Newcastle residents that the west intersection of Lakeview Road and Sunset Boulevard will be closed beginning next week.

When: The road will close January 13. Work is expected to be complete the week of April 6. Unfavourable weather conditions may influence the work schedule.

Where: The west intersection of Lakeview Road and Sunset Boulevard in Newcastle (Municipality of Clarington). Access along Sunset Boulevard will be maintained through a single lane at this intersection.

Why: To upgrade the sanitary sewer system in Newcastle.

Note: The Region realizes that the work is disruptive and will make every effort to complete the work as quickly and efficiently as possible. Drivers are asked to exercise caution for the safety of pedestrians, cyclists and work crews.
