Region of Durham recognizes Adult Day Program Awareness Week
Whitby, Ontario – The Region is celebrating Adult Day Program (ADP) Awareness Week from October 21 to 25. If you are a caregiver of an adult living with a cognitive impairment, including Alzheimer's disease and similar conditions, the Region of Durham offers three ADPs through Hillsdale Estates and Lakeview Manor (Beaverton and Port Perry sites). These programs provide supervised therapeutic, social and recreational programming in a safe setting.
When: The Hillsdale Estates ADP operates Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Extended hours are available at Hillsdale Estates. The Lakeview Manor Beaverton site ADP runs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. The Lakeview Manor Port Perry site ADP is on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Where: The Hillsdale Estates ADP is located at Hillsdale Estates, 590 Oshawa Boulevard North in Oshawa. Lakeview Manor offers two adult day programs. The Beaverton site is at Lakeview Manor, 133 Main Street North in Beaverton; and the Port Perry site is located at the Port Perry Hospital, 451 Paxton Street in Port Perry.
Why: These programs assist our clients in achieving and maintaining their highest level of functioning. Your loved one will participate in a wide range of activities based on their individual interests and abilities with professional and experienced staff. The programs also offer a break for caregivers and family members to enjoy personal time.
