Regional Chair brings greetings for the new year

Whitby, Ontario – The following statement is being issued on behalf of John Henry, Regional Chair and Chief Executive Officer for The Regional Municipality of Durham:

“On behalf of Durham Regional Council, I would like to wish everyone in Durham a healthy, safe and happy new year.  

This past year was truly memorable. We celebrated our 50th anniversary with the community. We reflected on our region’s rich history and heritage, acknowledging the incredible progress we have made. And we planned for the future, looking ahead with determination and excitement.

As we welcome the new year, we’re also getting set to introduce a new strategic plan. One that is driven by the growing and diverse needs of all who call Durham Region, home. This 10-year plan will set the foundation for the future we aspire to build—caring and welcoming communities that are connected to you.

Please join me in celebrating the past year, as well as what’s to come in 2025.”
