Regional Chair statement on the passing of RCMP Constable Harvinder Dhami

Whitby, Ontario – The following statement is being issued on behalf of John Henry, Regional Chair and Chief Executive Officer for The Regional Municipality of Durham:

“On behalf of the Region of Durham and our residents, I would like to offer my deepest condolences on the passing of RCMP Constable Harvinder Dhami of the Strathcona County detachment east of Edmonton, Alberta. Constable Dhami tragically passed away in the line of duty, while responding to an urgent call for reinforcement.

During this difficult time, our thoughts are with Constable Dhami’s family, friends and the community of Strathcona County during this sad time.

Flags at Regional Headquarters have been half-masted in his honour and will remain lowered until he is laid to rest.”
