Regional Council returns to Standing Committee structure in December 2018
Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham would like to remind residents that Regional Council will return to the Standing Committee governance structure for the 2018 to 2022 Council term.
When: Beginning December 1, Regional Council will revert to the four previous Standing Committees–Finance & Administration, Health & Social Services, Planning & Economic Development and Works. The first meeting of each Committee for the 2018 to 2022 Council term will take place during the week of December 10, and a Vice-Chair for each committee will be elected at these meetings. For the month of December only, the Standing Committees and Regional Council will be operating on a condensed two-week schedule, due to the inaugural Regional Council meeting on December 5.
Where: For the month of December, the following meetings will be available through the live web stream, via durham.ca:
- Planning & Economic Development Committee meeting, December 11 at 9:30 a.m.
- Works Committee meeting, December 12 at 9:30 a.m.
- Committee of the Whole meeting, December 13 at 9:30 a.m.
The following December meetings will not be available via the live web stream, but will be recorded and posted to durham.ca shortly after the conclusion of each meeting:
- Health & Social Services Committee meeting, December 11 at 9:30 a.m.
- Finance & Administration meeting, December 12 at 9:30 a.m.
Note: Regional Council, Standing Committee and Committee of the Whole meetings return to a regular monthly meeting schedule in January 2019.
