Residents invited to provide feedback on Regional Cycling Plan
Whitby, Ontario – Durham residents are invited to provide input on the Regional Cycling Plan (RCP) update and offer suggestions about how to improve cycling in the region. Residents can provide feedback through an online survey or by attending a local pop-up event.
Where: To complete the online survey, visit durham.ca/RCP2020 until September 11, 2020. Pop-up events will be held on the following dates:
RCP pop-up event (Pickering)
Date: August 26, 2020
Time: Noon to 4 p.m.
Location: Bruce Hanscombe Memorial Park, 655 Breezy Drive, Pickering
RCP pop-up event (Scugog)
Date: August 29, 2020
Time: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Location: Port Perry Lakefront Farmers’ Market, 121 Water Street, Palmer Park, Port Perry
Why: The Region of Durham is updating the RCP to ensure that it aligns with the vision and strategies in the Region’s Transportation Master Plan and to enhance the Region’s cycling network maps and build upon policies that reflect emerging trends, community values and available resources.
The updated plan will promote healthy, active living and will benefit everyone in our communities by helping to reduce traffic, improve local air quality and make travel safer for those who can’t drive, especially children.
